A vacation Bench of Supreme Court on Monday found the Ads by BJP against TMC as “ Proma Facie “ disparaging .

Calcutta High Court earlier had said the ads to be  “ derogatory “ and slanderous “ .

A vacation bench of Justice J K Maheshwari and KV Vishwanathan had refused to interfere with the injuction issued by Calcutta High Court .

Prajwal Revanna , the Hasan MP accused in sexual assault cases  has released a video from undisclosed location . In the video he has said that  the sexual offence cases against him are “ lies “  and “ part of a conspiracy to end his political career “ . He said that he had faith in the Judiciary and  he would appear before SIT on May 31 .

Mr Prajwal is expected to be in Germany . State government had requested to cancel his diplomatic passport . A blue corner notice was issued against him .

He is fighting elections from Hasan . Elections in this constituency was held on April 26 .

JD ( S ) had already suspended him . The release of the video came when his grandfather HD Deb Gowda requested him to return and face action.

Six killed , life severely affected as Cyclone Remal batters southern district of Bengal

At least Six people were killed in West Bengal due to devastation caused by Cyclone Remal.

Southern districts of West Bengal were heavily affected .

Nearly 2 lakh people were displaced for safe locations .

 Government said that nearly 2500 houses were destroyed and 27,000 were damaged . Nearly 17,000 electric poles had been brought down and many trees were uprooted in North 24 and South 24 Parganas .

Kolkata recorded 144 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours till 8: 30 AM . The airport services at Netaji Subhash International airport was suspended for 20 hours .

Metro services were also hampered in Kolkata .

Rajkot fire tragedy  : No faith in state , machinery , says  Gujarat High Court

The Indian Metrological Department ( IMD ) has retained its prediction regarding ‘ above normal ‘ monsoon this year .

The agency forecast “ June – September “ monsoon says to have 6% higher Rainfall than the normal.

The normal rainfall for this season currently is 87 CM .

Israel’s late night strike on Rafah tent kills 45

An Israeli airstrike a massive airstrike killed 45 people in tent camp of Gaza City of Rafah .

The attack was in Tel Al Sultan neighbourhood of Gaza ,where thousands began a ground offensive two weeks ago .

More than half the dead were woman  , children and elderly people .

Israel has faced surging criticism over the recent strike .

French President Emanual Macron said ,” These operations must stop . There are no safe areas in Rafah for Palestinian civilians . I call for full respect of international law and immediate ceasefire “ .

Among other government which has condemned the attack are Italy , Turkey and US .

The death toll in Israeli attack  has already crossed 36,000 .

‘More than 2,000 buried in Papua and New Guinea landslip ‘

A Papua and New Guinea government has told the United Nations more than 2000 people were believed to have buried by Friday’s landslip and has formally asked for international help ..

There is confusion over exact figures . UN has said that around 670 were killed but the government data says otherwise .

UN chief laments the plight of small islands in climate context

UN secretary general Antonio Guterrus said on Monday that it was “ obscene “ that small island states, which were on the frontline of climate change , should pay for the fossil fuel industry’s greed and competition between major economies .

Mr Gueterrus was addressing the fourth Small Island Developing STATES ( SIDS ) in Antigua and Barbuda .

“ Climate change is an existential crisis for the entire human family . But SIDS are on the frontline . “

He told at the conference of 39 states with 65 million population .

SIDS are extremely vulnerable to climate change  . But they are not able to fight it on their own . They need climate financing .

But previous pledged by UN  regarding fimacial is still not fulfilled .

China agrees to revive cooperation with Seol , Tokyo , but miffed by their US ties

Chinese Premier Li quaing , South Korea. president Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese President Fumio Kishida met in Seuol for first trilateral meeting in recent times.

Chinese leader agreed to start a three way cooperation , supply chain and economic issues were among the major points of talks .

The leaders also agreed on exchange of cultural ties .

The Chinese Premier in a veiled attack to the two countries said that strategic autonomy was needed and formation of blocs should be avoided .

Japan and South Korea both are US allies . Both countries has strong strategic ties with US . China sees this as an attempt by US to contain it .

The relation between the three countries has been conflicting on issues of South China sea and other issues .

3.75 lakh people have been affected by Cyclone Remal in Bangladesh . More than a 35,000 homes were destroyed while 1,15,902 were damaged .

Menstrual Hygiene in Indian Prison

According to National Crime Record Bureau ( NCRB ) , there are 23,772 women in Indian Prison. About 77 % of them are under menstruating age .  The Mentruation Hygiene among prisoners is very poor .

In 2023 government brought “ National Menstrual Hygine Policy “ to recognise menstruation as a natural process .

The policy recognise Prisoners as target population .

The controversy of Eucalyptus planting in Kerala

Kerala government issued an order to Kerala Forest Development Corporation ( KFDC ) to plant Eucalyptus trees for its financial sustenance.

Environmentalist soon protested the decision of saying the move will heighten human animal conflict in future .

On May 20. Government limited its order to only cut exotic tree species from land’s in Kerala govt control .

Eucalyptus is indigenous to Australia . Even currently three fourth of Australia’s forest is Eucalyptus .

Eucalyptus is a plant which grows very fastly ,its timber is useful as well this is the reason that it is used in many places to form new forest or replace forest .

 

The problem is that the local eco system that included local trees and plants will be severely affected  with Eucalyptus plantation  .
