From hope to despair

Hasina developed an authoritarian streak as she stayed on in power

The editorial is about the current situation in Bangladesh . Sheikh Hasina was doing the right things for the Bangladesh economy . But her crackdown on opposition and recently on the student movement possibly led to the current situation . Her crackdown on opposition party members and dissent voices didn’t go well .

However , there are chances  to doubt that the current situation is in the hands of the US and Pakistan from behind.  And the students’ movement was political in nature . India has been complicit in her decision .

This Is causing India trouble as the protesters are attacking minorities in Bangladesh .

The editorial says that the Indian government  should not waste time and engage with the new government in Bangladesh for peaceful functioning and development in the region .
