about ?

The writer talks about ₹
2000 notes, issues with this and way ahead.

Ø Problem with 2000 notes

2000 introduced had a new size. The ATM machines had to be recaliberated. This
was a huge exercise with engineers visiting ATM Centres manually and spend few
hours to recaliberate it.

·
Quality of notes were not that good, many notes
poorly printed.

·
₹ 2000 notes was used in hoarding
doing illegal activities.

In market no one was that interested in doing transaction with ₹
2000, because of its size.

Ø What Next ?

Though some tell that there is need for
larger notes. But its not a good idea. Govt should give push to digital
currency, e-rupee which will be a perfect substitute of it. Digital transaction
through UPI has already minimized its need.
