Several high scoring NEET centres found clustered in Rajsthan’s Sikar district

An Analysis of NEET UG 2024 results shows that many students scoring high marks were clustered in certain cities or states .

Of the 50 NEET UG centres that scored above 650 , 37 centres are located in Sikar district of Rajasthan .

A total of 27,136 students appeared from Sikar district of which 2,037 ( 7.48 %) scored more than 650 .

While the national average is 1.29 % .

The highest number of candidates scoring above 650 marks , 6697 candidates wrote from Rajasthan .

Certain centre’s from Gujarat and Haryana  have  a significantly high percentage of candidates scoring higher marks .

The Supreme coUrt can order NEET UG 2023 data also made public so that a comparison can be drawn in this regard .

CBI arrests three more in NEET paper leak case

CBI on Thursday arrested three more persons who helped students in solving the leaked question paper .

One was arrested from Jharkhand , while two who were from a medical college of Bharatpur , Rajasthan .

These were all close associates of Rakesh Ranjan alias “ Rocky “ who is already in custody .

Boy infected with NIpah critical ; health protocol put into place in Kerala.

The Nipah virus scare has resurfaced in Kerala . One boy died in Kozhikode , while there has been found to be infected in Malappuram district . The patients have been quarantined .

It was in May 2018 , that Kerala reported the first case of Nipah virus case in Kozhikode .

Health ministry has ordered the use of masks and PPE kits .

This was the fourth time that the case has been reported .

Nipah virus is a bat borne virus . The mortality rate of this virus is very high, 40 -75 % .

East African countries and South East Asian countries have faced heavy casualties from this virus . 

Airline systems working normally after global IT outage ,says aviation minister

Airline systems across airports , which were impacted by Global IT outage on Friday , have started to work normally , the civil aviation minister said .

On Friday in one of the biggest IT outages , an update by a product offered by global cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike triggered a problem  in Microsoft Windows operating systems .

Airlines , Hospitals , stock markets , television channels etc all faced problems . 

Kerala seeks ₹24,000 economic package from Kerala

The Kerala government has demanded an economic package of ₹24,000 crore in the centre’s budget .

The demand is to tide over current liquidity stress faced by the states ,for over a period of two years .

Among the state’s  demands  include a ₹5,000 crore ‘special assistance ,’ for Vizhi  sea port project  and permission to borrow ₹6000 crore in the current fiscal year .

29 admitted to hospitals after gas leaks in T. N. seafood unit

29 women workers of a.  seafood processing units were admitted to hospital , after they experienced moderate breathing problem s” around Friday midnight .

The plant is located at the outskirts of Thoothukudi in TamilNadu ,officials said .

The  problem occurred after “ minor leakage “ .

Officials have clarified that the gas was not ammonia gas .

978 Indian students safely evacuated

India has evacuated 978 nationals who were studying in various institutions in Bangladesh , the MEA said in a press note .

Currently there are around 8000 Indian students in Bangladesh . Indian officials have also assisted students from Nepal and Bhutan to leave the country as educational institutions have shut down indefinitely , in view of ongoing clashes .

Indian officials are coordinating with law enforcement officials and airline companies to evacuate Indian nationals from Dhaka and Chittagong airport .

Security escorts have also been arranged for their travel by roads .

The US state department has announced that the situation is “ extremely volatile and unpredictable “ .

Center rejects study that claims 11.9 lakhs access death during Pandemic

The Union health ministry on. Saturday dismissed the figures published in a  magazine named science advances. A  peer reviewed scientific journal published by American Association for the Advancement  of Science , was based on untenable and unexplainable estimates .

The Union health ministry further said that the report  was “ gross and misleading ” .

The study fails to acknowledge India’s  civil registration system .

The ministry said that the methods used by authors were flawed.

The Health Ministry’s data shows 5.3 lakh deaths from CovId .

Bangladesh deploys Army ,as u rest toll rises to 133

Bangladesh called the Army to petrol on roads as the total. The number of deaths  in Dhaka in Bangladesh   was recorded 133 .

Internet and  text message services have been suspended  since Thursday .

Overseas telephone and website of Bangladesh based  media remained inactive .

“ The army has been deployed nationwide to control the  law and order situation “  ,armed forces spokesperson Shahadat Hussain said .

Curfew was eased for two hours on Tuesday .

Trump speaks with Zelensky , says be will ‘end war ‘ bring ‘ peace to the world ‘

US Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump said that he spoke to Ukrainian President Vladmir Zelensky  and pledged to end European countries’ war with Russia .

“ I appreciate President Zelensky for reaching out because I , as your next president of the United States , will bring peace to the world , and end the war that has cost so many lines and has devastated countless innocent families . ” Mr Trump said on his social media platform Truth .

Mr Zelensky confirmed the call , which was being made to congratulate after being nominated as Republican party’s Presidential candidate and wishing him well after an attempt on his life .

Mr Trump has repeatedly claimed that he would end the war very quickly , without offering details as to how .

Many Ukrainian allies think that the US would force a ceasefire , with a part of Ukrainian territory being held by Russia .

This would be similar to a partial defeat for Ukrainian allies .

Israeli jets strike Houthis targets in Yemen ‘ in response to the attack ‘

The Israeli military said on Saturday that its fighter jets struck a Houthi military target in the area of Hodeidah  port in Yemen   in response to hundreds of attacks carried out against Israel .

As per reports, strikes were directed towards the oil facilities in the port .

The Houthi leadership on Saturday said there would be “ effective response ,” to Israeli airstrike on Hodeidah port and they will not hesitate in attacking “ vital targets’ ‘ in Israel .

This comes after , on Friday Houthis struck Tel Aviv with Iranian made drones . One person died and 3 injured in the attack .

The Houthis , backed by Iran , are continuously targeting Iran and ships in the Red Sea . They claim to be doing this in solidarity with Palestine against Israeli attack .

She had faked her name , her father and mother’s name , her photograph and signature , her email id and phone number  in the application.

Following complaints by senior officials of misusing her position , a committee was made by DoPT to verify her candidature . She was  found to forge her documents .
