Bangladesh chief justice quits : Hindus seek safety
Bangladesh chief Justice Obaidul Hussain resigned on Saturday , amid protests by students who demanded her resignation as well as restructuring of the country’s judiciary .
Two appellate division judges also resigned .
Protesting students said that the chief of Supreme court and other judges who resigned were loyal to former PM Sheikh Hasina .
Three other chancellors also resigned .
Protest by Hindus
Thousands of Hindus staged a protest for a second consecutive day on Monday ,demanding safety of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh .
Mohammad Younus , chief adviser of the interim government , condemned the attack as “ heinous “ . He urged students to protect Hindus , Christians and Buddhist families .
According to Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity council of Bangladesh at least 205 incidents of attacks on minorities have occurred across 52 districts since the fall of Sheikh Hasina government on August 5 .
Case withdrawn
The law , justice ,and parliamentary affairs decided to withdraw all cases filed between July 1 and August 5 citing that these cases were registered to suppress mass protests .

SEBI chief had stake in funds tied to Adani report : Hindenburg Research
Hindenburg on Saturday alleged that the chairperson of Security Exchange Board of India ( SEBI ) was involved in having stakes in obscure foreign businesses and companies of Adani .
It alleged SEBI chairperson Madhavi Puri Buch and her husband Naval Buch held stakes in offshore Bermuda and Mauritius funds through complex structure . It said that weeks before holding the chairperson post , Ms Buch transferred the ownership of Mauritius based funds to her husband .
Earlier , SEBI had given a clean chit to Adani against the allegation of Hindenburg report .
Hindenburg had also been sent show cause notice by SEBI for allegedly trying to disrupt Indian stocks .
Hindenburg has alleged that the clean chit to Adani by SEBI was because of involvement of its chairperson in with Adani stocks .
“We find it unsurprising that SEBI was reluctant to follow a trial that may have led to its own chairperson “
Prime Minister visits Kerala , offers all possible aid for rehabilitation efforts in landslide hit .
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the centre would provide all possible help in the relief and rehabilitation work in the landslide hit areas of Wayanad in Kerala .
PM Modi in his first visit to Wayanad after the landslide , visited the spot of landslide Chooralmala . He also went to relief camps and hospitals where those who lost their homes and family members were sheltered .
Chairing a review meeting PM Modi said that the need for funds would not be constrained . The centre would stand together with the Kerala government . To help those who lost everything in the disaster .
“ I want to assure the families of the deceased that they are not alone . We are all standing with them . The state and Union governments will ensure that no work is hampered due to the death of money, “ PM Modi said .

An Israeli air strike on a Gaza school turned shelter on Saturday killed at least 93 people , Palestinian health authorities said .
The Israeli military said that “ it can be confirmed that at least 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists were eliminated . “ The military further said that it took “ numerous steps “ to mitigate risks as it precisely struck the school target .
Military has repeatedly made similar accusations after strikes on school shelters . Hamas has denied using schools and civilian facilities .

Maduro rules out negotiating with opposition about polls
President Nicolas Maduro on Friday ruled out Negotiating with opposition leader Maria Corina Machado after he appeared before Venezuela Supreme Court .
Ms Machado offered “guarantees and incentives “ for a “ negotiated transition “ of power that would see him leave office .
The election was won by Maduro but the opposition has alleged forging the results .
150 Rohingya killed in attack by ethnic group in Myanmar
Doctors Without Borders , an NGO working in Rakhine state in Myanmar, has said that at least 150 civilians from Muslim Rohingya minority died in drone and artillery attack on Monday .
The blame has come on the Arakan Army , the military wing of ethnic minority group that has denied responsibility.
The attack came when the Rohingyas were trying to enter Bangladesh crossing the Naf river.
It is still not clear who was behind the group , military or ethnic minority groups .
Russia mounts ‘ counter terror operation’ in there regions along Ukraine border
Moscow on Saturday launched a “ counter terror operation “ in three border regions adjoining Ukraine to halt Kiev’s advance deeper into Russia in the Kursk region .
Ukraine on Tuesday had launched a shock attack , the largest and one of the most successful offensive in the Kursk region of Russia . Ukrainian forces have entered several kilometres inside the Russian border and fighting is still going on .
The Russian nuclear agency said that the Ukrainian attack posed a “ direct threat “ to nearby Kursk nuclear power station .
Many Russian from border areas are leaving their residence to move inside the country .
