DGCA puts spicejet under strict watch over poor financial health

India’s Aviation safety regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation ( DGCA ) has put Spicejet under enhanced surveillance after Dubai Airport barred them from  checking in their flights at Dubai Airport over delayed payments .

DGCA said that it had  witnessed “ certain deficiencies “ in Spicejet economic situation during a recent auditing on August 7 and 8 .

Actor MLA Mukesh ,  six others booked for sexual abuse case

Kerala Police on Thursday registered  cases against seven persons , including actor legislator M Mukesh , in case of sexual harassment levelled  by woman actors in sexual harassment cases , in wake of release of Justice K Hema committee report .

Six cases were registered in Ernakulam district and one case was filed in Thiruvananthapuram .

Those who were booked are : Actor and CPI ( M ) MLA Mukesh , VS Chadrashekhran who was legal aid chairman of state Congress , Former secretary of  Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA)  Edavela Babu , former office bearer of AMMA Mallapuram Raju , and production controller , Actor Jayyasuriya and actor Siddiqui  .

Two persons among these  are office bearers of Congress , while one is of CPI ( M ) .

On Thursday , CPI ( M) turned tables to Congress and demanded resignation .

Pakistan invites Modi to attend SCO meet

Pakistan has invited PM Modi to the Shanghai Cooperation  Organisation  ( SCO ) heads of governments meeting to be held in October.

The information  was from Pakistan’s foreign ministry spokesperson .

SCO will be held on October 15 -16 in Islamabad  .

SCO members are India , Pakistan , Russia , China , Kazakhstan , Uzbekistan , Tajikistan and  Kyrgyzstan .

Supreme Court slams Telangana CM for his comments on Kavitha’s bail

The Supreme Court on Thursday accused Telangana CM Revanth Reddy of making “ irresponsible” comments amounting to “ casting aspersions “ on the court for  “ casting aspersions “ on the Court for granting bail to Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( BRS ) leader K Kavitha in Delhi Excise Policy case .

Mr Reddy is reported by the media to have said that Ms Kavitha got bail because of a deal between BRS and BJP  .

“ Do we pass orders in consultation with political parties  ?  We are not bothered by politicians criticism of our orders .we do our duty as per the constitution and oath “

Justice BR Gavai  said .

India holds 31st WMCC meeting to iron out issues

The Indian Meteorological department ( IMD ) has warned that a depression forming  over Saurashtra is likely to become a cyclone on friday .

The depression is likely to move westward and form a cyclone before the Pakistan coast on friday .

The consequences in India will be extremely heavy rainfall for two days in Gujrat .

This is the first time since 1964 that a land-based depression has formed in the Arabian sea .

Most of the cyclones originate in the sea . It is one of the very few occasions that it is originating on land .

Cyclones in South Asia generally form in October and November . Four Out of five cyclones form in 

India ,China holds 31st WMCC meeting to iron out issues

The 31st meeting of the Working Mechanism of Consultant and Coordination ( WMCC ) was held in Beijing on Thursday .

The meeting is about conflict resolution at the border .

The two sides had “ Frank , constructive , and forward looking exchange of views “ on the situation of Line of Actual Control ( LAC ) to “ narrow down differences “ and find an “  early resolution “  of outstanding issues .

Currently Demchok and Depsang in eastern Ladakh are the two contentious boundaries at LAC . The talk is about clearing these issues .

Submarine  Arihant set to add ballast to nuclear triad

India’s second nuclear powered submarine INS Arihant was commissioned on Thursday at Visakhapatnam in presence of Defense minister Rajnath Singh .

It is India’s second nuclear submarine .The first is INS Arihant , which is already in service .

INS Arihant has a displacement of 6000 tonnes and is powered by 83 MW light water reactor with enriched Uranium .

It is equipped with indigenous technology and is more technically advanced than INS Arihant .

It  is equipped with a 750 km range , K4 Submarine launched ballistic missile ( SLBM ) .

The 3500 km K4 SLBM is under development .

The addition of INS Arihant adds strength to India’s  nuclear triad .

Nuclear triad – Capability of firing nuclear weapons through Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (  ICBM ) , Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile ( SLBM ) , and strategic bombers with nuclear missiles .

India completed its nuclear triad in 2018 .

Countries build nuclear triad so that not all its nuclear capability is destroyed by some other countries first nuclear strike . This provides a strong deterrence .

Vadhawan port will boost Exim trade through west Asia , Europe : Sonowal

PM Modi on Friday will lay the foundation stone of Wadhawan Port .

It will be built at a cost of ₹76,620 crore .

The port will play  a major role  in export imports under India Middle East Europe Corridor  ( IMEEC ) , and International North South Transport Corridor ( INSTC ) .

It will ease the burden of JNPT Mumbai .

The port will be built under Public Private Partnership ( PPP ) .

Ukraine F16 crashes pilot killed during Russian attack

An F16 fighter jet of Ukraine crashed on Monday , Kyiv’s military said .

The F16 had destroyed four Russian cruise missiles and was  approaching the next target , but its connection with one of the aircraft was lost , and the aircraft crashed . The pilot died in the crash .

Telegram CEO faces charges of allowing alleged crime on App

French court has barred Telegram CEO , Pavel Durov from leaving country , after police handed over the charges of illegal activities including , child sexual abuse and drug trafficking through  his website .

Mr Durov holds multiple passports but he is originally a Russian citizen.

Hong Kong pro democracy news outlet stand news and its two former news chief editors , were found guilty of Sedition .

The court said that the pair was guilty of “ plotting to publish a seditious publication . “

This is the first conviction under Chinese rule that came in 1997 .

The move has brought condemnation by US and European countries .

Hong Kong is currently a territory of China , but it has autonomy for a certain period .

It is a democratic region ,where elections are held to choose administration . China has been accused of manipulating governance in the region.

Why the Union government banned ‘ 156 irrational doses of fixed

The Union health ministry has recently banned 156 “ irrational “ Fixed dose combination ( FDCs) medicine which includes multivitamins , painkillers and antibiotics .

The move , according to the center , is to safeguard the public from developing drug resistance due to irrational use of certain medicines  and also to curb misuse .

Mefenamic Acid + Paracetamol injection , Cetirizine HCL + Paracetamol + Phenylephrine HCL , Phenylephrine HCL + Paracetamol + chlorophenyl mine malware , Dihydrochloride + Paracetamol are some of the medicines to be used .
