40 Indias among 49 workers killed in Kuwait inferno

At least 49 persons, including 40 Indian citizens , were killed in a deadly fire that devastated an apartment complex in Kuwait’s southern district Al Mangaf .

Most of the Indian victims hail from Kerala . The fire broke out in the kitchen of the apartment .

Most people died of inhalation of Gas .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi despatched Minister of State for external Affairs Kirtivardhab Singh to oversee help being rendered to the injured and bring back mittal remains .

Ex Gratia ₹2 lakh has been announced to the families of the deceased one. .

PM Modi and EAM S Jaishankar expressed shock over the death.

Naidu is back as A.P. Chief Minister

Telugu Desam Party ( TDP ) national President N . Chadrababu Naidu was Wednesday  sworn in as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh  .

Pawan Kalyan was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister .

24 MLAs from NDA took the oath as ministers.

In recently held elections  NDA alliance won 164 out of 175 seats . YSRCP won 11 seats. .

Majhi sworn in as Odisha’s first BJP CM

Veteran BJP MLA Mohan Charan Majhi was sworn as 16 th CM of Odisha .

16 BJP MLAs were sworn in as ministers .

On the occasion of many BJP leaders and CM Ms were present .

CRPF jawan two militants killed in Jammu encounter

Two militant and a Jawan from CRPF were  killed and seven security personnel were injured in three encounters in Kathua and Doda

district.

The region has seen four major militant attacks on Sunday , including the one in which 9 persons were killed .

Food inflation accelerates in urban areas

India’s retail Inflation slid to one year low in May to 4.75 %. The inflation in April was 4.83%.

Food price inflation remained unchanged to 8.7%.

Among food items, the rise in vegetable prices was 27.3% . This remained a major concern. Cereals , Milk , fruits remained at moderate level inflation between 6-9%.

Prime Minister to attend G 7 outreach meet in Italy

PM Modi will travel to Apulia of Italy o. Thursday to attend the G 7 outreach meet .

India is among 12 countries that has been invited .

PM Modi will hold a meeting with leaders of G7 countries .

The PM can hold a meeting with the Ukrainian PM also .

Any Interaction between PM Modi and Canada’s PM Turdeau will be interesting to see , as the relationship between the two countries is quite tense currently.

The G7 meeting will be held from 13-15 June .

The Peace Conference will be held between 15 -16 June .

India still has not decided on participation in the Peace summit , Foreign. Secretary Vinay Kwatra said.

Shock as Indians die in distant battlefields

Russia has recently confirmed two deaths of Indians on the Ukrainian battlefield . They were fighting from the Russian side in Ongoing Russia Ukraine war .

India has demanded a ‘ verified stop ‘ to any further recruitment of Indian nationals by the Russian army , says the ministry  ; The matter has been taken up with the Kremlin and Ambassador in New Delhi directly .

63 cases of use of unfair means , but no paper leak, says NTA

Sixty three cases of students using unfair means were reported in NEET UG out of which 23 have been debarred for varying periods , National Testing Officials said.  40 candidates have been withheld .

But the NTA reiterated that no paper leak occurred and the sanctity of the exam was ok .

Study ranks India second in nitrous oxide emissions

India at 11% is world’s second largest source of Nitrous Oxide ( N2O ) . China topped the list with 16% N2O emission .

The report was published in Journal.Earth System Science Data on Wednesday .

N2O is a greenhouse gas and heats up the atmosphere more than CO2 .

The major source of N2O in the atmosphere comes from fertilizers .

N2O emissions are responsible for 6.4% of the greenhouse effect .

Macron calls for moderates unity to beat far right in polls

 French President Emanual Macron on Wednesday urged moderate politicians from the left and right  to regroup to defeat the dar right in the upcoming national legislative elections .

In recently concluded EU elections , Macron’s party suffered heavy defeat from the far right National Rally of Marie LePen .

Mr Macron unexpectedly dissolved the National Assembly , he said this to be a risky move as he could not ignore the new political realities after the heavy defeat he got in EU elections .

Mr Macron had still 3 years left for his term .

The election in France will be held in two rounds on June 30 and July 7.

Hezbollah fires rocket at Israel to avenge senior commander’s killing

Lebanon’s Hezbollah fired a heavy barrage of rockets into Northern Israel on Wednesday , to avenge the killing of top commander Taleb Sami Abdullah .

About 160 projectiles were fired from Southern Lebanon , making it one of the largest attacks since the fighting began .

Israeli attack on Lebanon has killed more than 400 people , most of them Hezbollah members and about 70 civilians . On the Israeli side 15 soldiers and 10 civilians have died

Pakistan bikes Defense budget by nearly 15 % in 2024-25

Pakistan on Wednesday announced a nearly 15 % hike in its defense spending and allocated ₹2122 billion in the 2024 -25 budget .

Last year this figure was ₹1804 Billion .

The volume of Budget passed in Pakistan’s National Assembly stood to be ₹18,877 billion .

GDP growth target is 3.6%.  Inflation Target is 12% .

Pakistan is currently in talks with the IMF on further release of loan money .

Higher defense spending will be a negative point in this .

Bangladeshi Nobel Prize winner Yunus indicted in graft charges

Mohammad Yunus and 13 others were indicted on graft charges of an embezzlement of 252.2 million taka ( 2 million dollar ) from the workers welfare fund of his telecom company .

They are also accused of money laundering .

Currently Mr Yunus is on bail , but there are about 100 cases going against him .

Building the Amaravati capital will be one of his goals . Previous government had stalled his plans to develop Amravati as new capital .

Jagan Mohan Reddy had proposed three capital formulas .

With coming of Mr. Naidu Amaravathi as capital should remain his priority .

Farmers welfare is one of the major pressing issues . In his election promises NDA had promised ₹20,000 crore input cost for farmers.

As a futuristic leader Mr Naidu is expected to complete his promises and move the state on a rapid developmental trajectory .
