72 member NDA Ministry takes oath to the office
Narendra Modi took oath of office for the
third term as Prime Minister on Sunday . The ceremony was held in Rashtrapati
Bhawan’s forecourt .
The new cabinet comprises 30 cabinet ministers
, five Ministers of states with independent charges , and 36 ministers of State
.
The mix contains a mix of old and new . Sixth
one ministers are from BJP , 11 from its partners in NDA .
Five cabinet ministers from allies are H D
Kumaraswamy from JD ( S) ; former Bihar CM and HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi ,
Chirag Paswan of LJP ;Ram Manohar Naidu of TDP ;Rajiv Ranjan Singh “ Lallan” of
the JD( U) .
The ministers are drawn from 24 states , including ,BJP’s first lok Sabha
member from Kerala , Suresh Gopi
27 ministers are from the OBCs , 10 from SCs ,
five from STs , five from minority community .
Many Ministers have been repeated , Rajnath Singh , Nitin Gadkari , Piyush
Goyal , Nirmala Sitharaman , Giriraj Singh and Koren Rijiju .
BJP President
JP Nadda has also been included in the cabinet . Nadda’s term as BJP
president was to end on June . This gives signs of revamp in BJP’s Organisation
.
Ajit Pawar led NCP rejects offer of Minister of State
post
While Eknath Shinde has been included in the
cabinet . Ajit Pawar declined an offer by BJP for the minister of state ( MoS )
post . He said that he has asked for a cabinet minister’s post instead . He said that he has got assurance
of a cabinet post in few days .

Leaders of seven neighboring countries
attended the swearing in of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet at
Rashtrapati Bhawan Delhi .
After the ceremony , SriLanka President Ranil Wockramsjinghe , Maldives President
Mohammad Muizzue , Seychelles vice President Ahmad Afif , Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ,
Mauritius President Prawin Juganath , Nepal PM Pushpa Kumar Dahal ‘ Prachanda ‘

the ceremonial banquet .
Mr Modi thanked the dignitaries to participate

Mr Modi has called for “ deeper people to
people contact and connectivity in the region “ and added that India would
continue with the “ voice of global South in international arena ,”
Eight pilgrims killed , 33 injured as bus comes under
fire in Jammu
At least eight pilgrims were killed and 33
injured ,after their bus came from heavy fire from gunmen in Jammu on Sunday .
“ Initial reports says that the terrorist fired upon the terrorist bus going
from Shiv Khori to Katra . The driver lost control of bus and fell into the
gorge .
Home Minister.in a post on X said that none of
the culprits will be spared .

In EU parliament vote , far right eyes gains
21 out of 27 EU countries voted on the fourth
day of election for EU parliament .
France , Germany were among the countries that
went for voting on sunday.
The EU parliament has a total 750 seats. Seats are divided among the countries . The
centrist parties contain most of the
seats currently .
In the previous election the number of seats
were 705 . The current number of seats is 720 .
Israel war cabinet Minister Grantz quits Netanyahu
government
Israeli war cabinet Minister Benny Grantz said on Sunday that his
party was quitting the government . Last month Mr Grantz had shown
dissatisfaction about post war plans .
“ Netanyahu is preventing us from getting a
real victory . That is why we are leaving the government today with a heavy
heart “.
Mr Grantz also called for early elections .
Netanyahu asked Mr Grantz not to leave the
coalition in a post on X .
Parting of Mr Grantz does not make the current government a minority .
Meanwhile , the Israeli Army said in a
statement that a senior commander Brigadier General Avi Rosenfeld has resigned
over failure to prevent Hamas attack on October 7.
Pakistan and IMF disagree over new Income Tax rules
Pakistan and IMF is negotiating further
transfer of loan . Talks between Pakistan and IMF have failed due to
disagreement between new income tax rates for salaries and non salaried persons
. The highest Income tax rate of Pakistan is currently 35 % , which Pakistan
has increased to 45% .
The other issue is the imposition of 18% on
agriculture and healthcare .
The IMF has promised a 3 billion dollar loan
to Pakistan .

Monetary Policy Committee ( MPC ) in its eighth consecutive meeting , that
chose to leave the benchmark repo rate unchanged at 6.5 .
The committee expressed concern that “
elevated food price could derail “ its effort to maintain stable price
stability . Food inflation recorded was 8.7 % in April and 8.5% in March. Price
of vegetables , cereal , spices has shown a constant rise in food price
inflation .
MPC has however shown confidence that above
normal Monsoon can ease food prices .

It used superconducting magnets . The cost of
MRI scanners are pretty high making it difficult for all purpose use .
A team of doctors in Hong Kong has built a low
strength but about 50 times cheaper MRI machine. The machine has been built
such that it is easy to use . This can make use of MRI machines accessible to
all in the coming future .
